The lecture will explore how radical right parties in Western and Central Europe relate to Israel, the Holocaust, and the Jews. While Western radical right parties have progressively become more positively inclined to Israel, Central European kin political groups seem to further the traditional positions or radical anti-Zionism. This trend is shared by new popu-list political movements which have recently appeared in European politics. Giovanni M. Quer studied law and holds a PhD in International Studies. He is currently a fellow of the Vidal Sassoon Center for the Study of Antisemitism, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research interests are human rights, Israel studies, and contemporary antisemitism. |
